Jaime & Dustin | Engaged

There is so much I could say about this couple.. but Jaime is one of my closest friends, and I absolutely love her to pieces.  She and I met while working at the same private school in Port Coquitlam as Autism Support Workers/Education Assistants.  We instantly clicked, and spent our entire lunch breaks together, and would go shopping after work, and drink way too much Starbucks together.  Jamie is one of the sweetest- she genuinely cares ALOT, and will do pretty much anything for her friends and family.  She is one of those life long friends that will always be around and will always have your back.

I'm so excited that these two are getting married- Jaime and Dustin have known each other since high school, and now they have two beautiful children together!  You have probably seen these two all around my website with their kids... I have pretty much captured their life for the past three years (thanks for being my professional models guys!). They are tying the knot on Thanksgiving weekend, and it's going to be such an incredible day with their friends and family.  What I love most about these two is that they know how to laugh hard and have fun together! Dustin was sporting a mustache for our shoot... Jaime's favourite look.  Ha ha.

I just love these two, and we chased some gorgeous sunset light up at Golden Ears Park in Maple Ridge, and I was ecstatic for how it translated into my lens.

Congratulations again you two- I can't wait to stand by your sides and see you two make it official. Love you! xx

Chiara & Gord Tie the Knot

Sometimes there are weddings that really just make you wish you could do it all over again and do it the same way... well this was one of those!  This was such an awesome wedding...

I remember getting the message from Chiara & Gord, and they said they were secretly engaged- only their families knew, and they were going to have a secret wedding.  They wanted to elope, but this was the happy medium- having their families there mattered too much!  Did I want to photograph it- absolutely I did!

This was by far the most relaxing and laid back wedding ever.  What made it really fun was that Andy was there too- but not as my assistant, he officiated their ceremony.  It was so fun watching these two, who have so much passion for one another, commit their lives to one another in front of their families.  We then got to go for a walk around Rocky Point and Port Moody, see their friends and family go swimming while we took some photos, and then enjoy Pajos Fish & Chips.  Their wedding cake topped the charts too- ICE CREAM CAKE.

At the end of September they are having their big reception with all their friends and family and co-workers... but there was something so special and intimate about this wedding.

Thank you so much Chiara & Gord for having me be apart of your wedding day!  I had such an incredible time, and I'm so glad you guys found each other.  You two have such an incredible future ahead of you, and I really feel like the type of marriage you guys are investing in is one full of partnership, and it will be such an example to so many other couples!  You guys know how to love well- and it is evident by the people in your lives!

Blessings on your marriage!  Continue to pursue relentlessly after one another, and love hard even when it's hard <3 Congratulations again!

The Craig Family

Where do I even begin with this amazing family...

Jenae and I have been best friends since we met in high school.  She arrived in my Grade 9 (I think... don't quote me on that.. mummy brain) year, and we instantly clicked.  She and I used to do insane things- like write a notebook full of lists, and pass it back and forth to one another just so we could make sure we got everything done that each other had written down.  We even got married two weeks apart- she got married in June and we followed two weeks later in July.

Jenae and Jordan were high school sweet hearts, and now they have THREE amazing kids!  I have been so lucky to photograph each of their kids as babies, and this time instead of doing the usual newborn shoot, we decided to go for a walk and do some family photos instead.  I couldn't love these kids more, and their girls are just so sweet.  Poor Addie, who is their oldest, fell just as we were walking over to the park... she was so excited to have her photo taken, and it took a little while for her to calm down after- but what a trooper she was!  We picked some berries, looked for mermaids, laid on the grass, raced around the path, and talked about Disney Princesses.  It was a wonderful evening!  I can't wait for Harper to follow Addie & Aubree around.

Congratulations Craig Family on the birth of your amazing little boy, Everett! He is such an awesome addition to your family :) Love you guys!

Riley & Rachael | Engaged

I met Rachael & Riley back in 2013, and honestly, they are some of the sweetest people I know.  The love they share for one another is something for the books.  They have been together since they were teenagers, and they are getting married in December this year!  I'm so looking forward to their winter wedding, and just hanging out with them on their special day!

We went for a walk along the river in Port Coquitlam, and I love this river trail.  This was Harper's first photo shoot with me out of belly, and she was great!  She absolutely loves trees, and nature.  Andy came along and pushed the pram so I could photograph these love birds.  I'm so excited with how these images turned out!  They are such a beautiful couple and deserve the world!

Congrats Riley & Rachael- I can't wait to photograph your big day!

Welcome to the world, Harper Ava

The day Harper came happened over a few days, and boy were they ever full of excitement, exhaustion, stress, a tad bit scary, but when we got to lay eyes on her, it was perfect.  I wouldn't trade a minute, or have a different birth story to have her.  We should have known that she would make a big deal when she arrived.

Since the day we found out we were expecting her, I just knew that I knew we were going to have her by week 38.  Everyone thought I was nuts, that I was full of wishful thinking because my sister was getting married 6 days after her due date, but there was something deep inside me that knew she was going to arrive by week 38.  And she did.  Exactly.

I never imagined that I would have had a C Section- in fact, the thing I was most scared of in this whole process of having a child was the birth.  It wasn't if I was going to be a good mom, it was the birth.  I never did experience labor, as we had some scary things come up and the best way to save me and her was to get her out ASAP.  But man, this was such an incredible experience.  I was fully awake, and hearing her cry for the first time was the most amazing sound I had ever heard. C Sections are no joke- they are not the easy way out, they are very painful post surgery, and I never knew my body could be in such pain. Pain that was totally worth it.

The doctors and nurses were so amazing, and they allowed us to take some photos when they were pulling her out... well not some, just one... but you can never tell a photographer that they can only take just one.  The photos we got were unreal- the most beautiful thing I have ever seen.

Falling in love with Andy was great- it was such a beautiful way of choosing love, and loving him everyday has been about continuing to pursue his heart... but meeting Harper Ava was the most intense and overwhelming love I have ever experienced.  She was birthed out of love, and the love was beyond choosing for her- she was just born into our love.

She has completed us- sure, being a mom can be hard... but life with her way outweighs life before her.  I love watching her grow, discover life around her, and see so much of ourselves in her.  I love that when she smiles, she smiles like me, that she loves to look around at the world like her dad, and when she laughs, she really means it.

These photos are my favourite, and I hope you love them as much as I do. I am so looking forward to photographing more birth stories.
